Mother Nature Part 2

I can't believe it...mother nature reads my blog. About an hour after yesterday's post, I got my period. I felt so much rumbling in my lower abdomen over the past few days I thought SOMETHING must be going on. I guess I was right, but in the wrong way.

Female anatomy is really a poor design. The one area of the body that a women is going to focus on is surrounded by bowels, bladder, and other stuff that goes bump in the night. It's hard to tell what's an egg implanting and what's a gas bubble popping.

I suppose someone with an elbow problem who was focused on that elbow might notice strange clicks and cracks that could send them over the edge. But it just seems like the uterus is such a mysterious empty space that gives off false signals all the time. My uterus is the boy who cried wolf.

  1. That's me. All I have to do is say aloud "Where is AF?" and that's when she'll rear her ugly head...

  4. I'm sorry this isn't it for you. One of the worst parts of all of this are the ambiguous signs that could go either way. (((HUGS)))

Thank you for your comment on my blog. If you're comfortable, I'd like to hear your experiences with my REs office...I'm still new there and am evaluating things. Surprise email from a PSU alum... pennstatekelly at gmail dot com.

  5. I've been fooled a couple of times by a coy uterus, and it just plain sucks. What's even worse is when I don't feel anything at all, and I wonder, "Hmm...maybe this must be it because it's trying to trick me into thinking that nothing is happening." Oh mind games.

Hope this next cycle works out better for you.

  6. Sorry to see that your cycle did not go as planned, since your follicles looked good. Sometimes it just takes a little tweeking to get things just right with a PCO patient. Don't worry, the very positive thing that you have going for you is that you have had a successful pregnancy already, so it may only be a matter of time. Don't lose sight of your goal...my wife & I tried for 12 years, and me an RE!, with our first & only with IVF when DW was 38. Good luck! ICLW #7

  7. The uterus certainly is a mysterious part of the body. But one of those wondrous, mysterious parts :) Good luck in your journey!

    Happy ICLW!

  8. So sorry that this cycle did not take. I know it is devastating. I think the very worst thing is that all too often, PMS symptoms are exactly the same as pregnancy symptoms. It is all too easy to trick yourself into thinking you are pregnant.

  9. Ah, yes, the uterus. Blast her in her sneakiness. Before we found out we were IF I had any number of early pregnancy signs every month....and of course they immediately went away when AF showed her ugly face. Sorry this wasn't it for you. Good luck :) And happy ICLW!
