The IUI was yesterday and I have to say that, for an insemination, it was pretty cool. Dr. O used an abdominal ultrasound to see exactly where the catheter was. Once it was passed the cervix, he pushed it further until it was 7 (centimeters? millimeters? I don't know) something beyond the cervix. Then we actually watched them inject the sperm on the monitor so we know they're all in their. Unlike my previous clinic where I was not encouraged to linger, they had me lay on the bed for 15 minutes before leaving. To be extra extra sure nothing fell out, even though I know the cervix closes and the sperm isn't supposed to leak, my husband brought the car around so I didn't have to walk far. I rode the hour home with my feet up on the dash, my seat reclined, and a green McShake in my hand.
My 7th try fell on St Pattys day. Good luck, right?
The hormones have been catching up with
me--hot flashes, lack of patience and moody, and huge, swollen boobs. If only the shots could trim my thighs and flatten my belly...
I start progesterone suppositories tonight. I'm supposed to take one in the a.m. and p.m. but I have a lot of driving to do tomorrow and heard it can make some people tired and dizzy. It's less likely to happen with the suppository than the oral pill, but I'll play it safe.

Oh that's so exciting! I'm so happy that your IUI went well - sounds like as perfect as an IUI can go. I'm a little jealous - mine was definitely not like that... Go, spermies go! Here's to a really good day in a couple weeks or so...

How fantastic that your dr used an ultrasound and you could see it all. Mine never did that. I think St. Patrick's Day is sure to bring good look. Here's to a BFP!! Can't wait to read more of your blog and follow along.
