I started my IVF meds on Friday night and had my first blood test this morning, waiting to hear the results. If everything goes as planned, I'll have my egg retrieval on August 6 with embryo transfer a few days later.
The injections have been a challenge. Because I buy my meds from England, they come in these little glass vials, which I've complained about before. For IUI cycles, I was using one vial of medicine and one of purified water. Now, I'm using four vials of meds and two of water. It's nerve wracking mixing it all and dealing with all of those little bottles. By the time I got finished with it on Friday and Saturday, I was so frazzled that my husband had to give me the shots. Yesterday, I found some larger syringes, which made it much easier to mix. It still took me a while, but I was much more relaxed and was able to give myself the shot. But, it's still better than paying a couple extra thousand for the meds.
